Meet The Team - Colorado Fly Fishing Guides

Zach

I’m Zach, a fourth generation Colorado fly fisherman. I started fishing when I was just about 3 and had a fly rod in my hand shortly after. I spent twenty years as a professional bicycle mechanic and owned an award winning bicycle shop in the Denver area for 13 years so I took a break from flyfishing for the first few years of owning my own shop.  I came back to fly fishing to alleviate the stresses of being a small business owner. I’ve taught friends and family how to fly fish ever since I can remember,  so the obvious next steps was to start guiding! I also enjoy building custom fly rods and tying flies. There’s a good chance that if you’re on a trip with me, you’ll be using flies that I have tied. One of my favorite focuses in fly fishing is helping people with disabilities fly fish. My son has cerebral palsy, so I tend to read water to see the spots where someone with a physical disability can have the most success in getting fish to the net. I hope to put your personal best trout in the net for you this season.
